Similarly, Muktinath which is in fact the destination of this trekking has great value for the Hindus and Buddhists as it refers the place of nirvana. However, Hindus name it as one of forms of Lord Bishnu whereas Buddhists worship it to be as Avalokiteshwara. Scenic ecstasy around Muktinath region would make trekkers feel total worth of journey.
Mainly, the both natural gifts like Fire Flame Gompa (Monastery), Narsingh Gompa (Monastery), Sangdo Gompa, and Shiv Parvati Temple and 108 natural running water taps can be the central point to be here. Among such gifts, Fire Gompa (Monastery) which people often publicize as Jwal Mai (Fire Flame) or Four elements temple, has unique feature for burning flame exists inside. Beside it you can also hear the flow of underground stream, and the incredible craftsmanship at the old monasteries would welcome as your expedition progresses.
The inhabited groups like Thkali, Magar etc. living in the naturally awesome landscape is stunning on the one hand whereas their hospitality culture and tradition will make you feel of being in absolutely different area. Enjoying Natural 'Hot spring' at Tatopani is another quite nice attraction of this regions.

When you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our friendly staff will be there to welcome you with a garland or Khata and a sign with your name. After the welcome, we'll take you to your hotel.
You'll start your trip from Kathmandu to Pokhara early in the morning. It's a beautiful drive through the hills with winding roads and you'll cross two lovely rivers, Trishuli and Marshyangdi, on the way. The distance between Kathmandu and Pokhara is about 202 km or 125 miles, and it usually takes around 6 to 7 hours to get there. Once you arrive, you'll stay overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
Get up early to catch a short flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, which only takes about 25 minutes. During the flight, enjoy the Ariel views of snowy mountains and green hills from your window. Jomsom is an important village in the Kali Gandaki valley because it has an airport, and this is where your trek begins.
Start your trek from Jomsom to the charming village of Kagbeni. You'll walk along a dirt road until you reach the entrance to Lower Mustang, where Kagbeni sits on top of a cliff. This village has a Tibetan influence and offers a unique cultural experience in its rugged surroundings.
Stay overnight in Kagbeni to rest and get ready for the adventures ahead.
After breakfast we will leave for our main destination of the trek to Muktinath in the morning as the sacred pilgrimage site is visited by most in the early morning. We will have our breakfast at the teahouse and leave for Muktinath Temple.
After around 6hours of trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath Temple. The temple is a famous pilgrimage site among both Buddhists and the Hindus. The trail to Muktinath Temple is as beautiful and mesmerizing as the temple itself. The routes are filled with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and the valleys. The route takes you along the Kali Gandaki stream.
We will descend to Marpha village. The village is known for its sweet apples and the apple wine made by these sweet apples known as Marpha. The village has many beautiful scenes of the mountains surrounding it along with apple orchards to provide to you.
We back from Muktinath passes the airport where you can fly from Jomsom to Pokhara. But, our journey hasn’t ended yet as we have much more memories to make. After around 7 hours of walking, we will reach the beautiful village of apple orchards known as the Marpha Village. Many tourists love to try the apples, dried apple snacks and the apple wine as delicacies.
We will head towards the small town of Ghasa. Ghasa is a small village with clear views of the Kaligandaki river. Also it is known for bird watching.
The trail from Marpha to Ghasa takes you through the beautiful views of the deepest gorge of the world, the Kali Gandaki Gorge. The river is surrounded by Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri on both sides making it the deepest gorge. The views from the trail and the village are majestic. About 6-7 hour walk through the beautiful trails from Marpha to Ghasa.
We will trek from Ghasa to Tatopani. This village is a popular destination among the trekkers as it is believed to have medical properties to heal your aches and fatigue. Today you can rest aside your troubles and fatigue and stress and enjoy the hot springs as they rejuvenate your body.
After 4 hours walk we will see a magnificent scenic trek Shikha and Chitre beautiful village through the Mountain View. This is an uphill trek but it will be worth all the hardships. Then after we will ascend Ghorepani village.
As the main day of our trek, the adventure begins early in the morning as we hike up to Poon Hill ridge in the dark. Use trekking sticks and head lamps today if necessary as trekking in the dark can be somewhat dangerous if you’re not careful. In just about an hour, we will reach the viewpoint at the top of Poon Hill (3,210m). Renowned as one of the best viewpoints in the Annapurna region as well as throughout Nepal, you can witness a magnificent panorama of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhare, Tukuche, Dhampus, Baraha and more.Take all the time you need to savor the heavenly view and take some memorable pictures before heading back down to the lodge at Ghorepani. After breakfast, the usual routine resumes and we head out for a long day of trekking to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a famous Gurung village with one of the largest Gurung populations in Nepal. In the evening, you can stop at the Ghandruk Cultural Museum for a quick tour and introduction to the local culture, traditions, history and lifestyle.
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is finally over. Drive from Ghandruk to Pokhara is an option but we will take the easier route by taking a jeep directly back to Pokhara. Once at Pokhara, we will drop you off at your hotel or the airport depending on your schedule. We hope that your time with Mountain Layers Treks has been a good one and wish you farewell!
Travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu, covering a distance of 202km, either by tourist bus, which takes approximately 7 hours, or by a short 35-minute flight. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, check into your hotel and spend the night relaxing and reflecting on your memorable journey through the Himalayas.
After breakfast, the sightseeing trip begins. An experienced city guide and comfy private van/car will be available during your sightseeing program. The first scheduled sightseeing spot is sacred Hindu temple complex- Pashupatinath which was built in Lichhavi period. We then drive to Boudhanath, one of largest stupa in the world. It is the spiritual Buddhist shrine for Nepalese and Tibetan Buddhist. We then visit Shayambhunath (2,000 years old monkey temple) that soars high at the hilltop. All three spots holds great religious and cultural significance for Nepalese people. Interestingly, all these religious sites are listed under UNESCO heritage site list.
It's time to say farewell to Nepal. Enjoy your last moments in Kathmandu with breakfast in a café, a city stroll, and/or souvenir shopping. A representative will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the airport for your return flight home. It's good to be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure.
