Ilam Bazaar
Ilam view is the tea garden and district headquarters. It is situated at the altitude of 1208m. This is the city of houses and temples are Maisthan Temple, Narayansthan Temple, Shinhamaini Temple, Devisthan Temple etc that reflects its own originality and geo-structure and View Tower, Bhalu Dhunga holly cave, old Tea Gardens, oldest Tea Factory and economic wooden houses which reflect their originality and rich sculptural tradition are the center of attraction.
Mai Pokhari
Situated at an altitude of 2438 meters, Mai Pokhari (Little Lake) is a famous place of pilgrimage in Ilam Place for Hindus. At 13km. north of Ilam Bazaar. It’s such a beautiful place consists of the pristine little lake surrounded by dense forest a Fir, Juniper, Birch, Pine and a variety of flora and fauna. Mai Pokhari is a religious and historical spot with a 9-cornered lake as the main attraction. The lake is considered the sacred abode of Goddess Bhagawati. Different species of medicinal plants, herds and orchids, mostly for research and experimental purpose, are cultivated in the Mai Pokhari area. Rare animals like the Musk Deer, Leopard, Porcupine, Jackal as well as numerous migratory birds and rare insects are also found in the area. On the way are the villages of Chureghanti, Bakhaute, Dharapani and Hasbire Bhanjyang, which offer commanding views of the snowy peaks towards north.
Kanyam Tea State and Fikkal Bazar
Kanyam and Fikkal have large tea estates that have made Ilam famous for more than a hundred years. This tea garden is popular among tourists for sightseeing, and photography. And Fikkal is a business center in eastern Ilam and on the Mechi Highway leading to Ilam. It is also the junction from where one can go to the eastern border city Pashupatinagar adjacent to Darjeeling district of India. Indian and Nepali nationals can cross over the other side of the border with valid documents.
Shree Antu Danda
Shree Antu Danda is the best sunrise view of Nepal. Visitors can be seen wonderful sunrise and sunset view from Shree Antu Danda. It is situated at an altitude of 1677m in Ilam District, is famous for its unique views of world hiest mountain Everest (8848m) and Kanchanjunga (8586m) and others mountain range. There is a motorable road from Ilam to Chhipitar from where one can read Antu Danda on foot. This exhilarating trekking along the lush green hills takes 4hours.
Siddhi Thumka
Siddhi Thumka is such a beautiful another sunrise and sunset place of Ilam. It’s situated at an altitude of 1800m. Visitor scan be also see the Terai flatlands the Mahabharat Range and the Churia mountain range from there. Siddhi Thumka is about a 4hours trek from Ilam Bazaar.
Chhintapu
Chhintapu is also beautiful place of Ilam. It’s situated at an altitude of 3353m. Chhintapu is also the second highest peak in Ilam. In this region eleven kinds of Rhododendron, Rare Herbs, Endangered Species and animals like the Musk Deer and Red Panda are found in region. Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, and most parts of Ilam can be seen from Chhintapu.
