Langtang Gosainkunda and Helambu Trek is a beautiful and popular journey in Nepal through lush forests, antiquated villages, ample wildlife and astounding views of the majestic Himalayas. The trip on drive starts from Kathmandu, the city of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, to Syabrubesi, a Tamang village on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. Then, you can start your trekking from here and reach Kyanjin Gompa and then climb Tserko Ri from where you can get tremendous views of the Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft) range, reach Gosainkunda, a revered place of pilgrimage for both Buddhists and Hindus. The water from Gosainkunda Lake is believed to have magical healing powers.
After that, you can pass by a few more lakes, cross the Laurebina Pass and reach the Helambu Valley. You can be at the top of Ama Yangri (3,800m) from where you can see and feel the view of the Himalayas from the top and Poon Hill are rivals. Moreover, you can see Mt. Shishapangma and the Langtang ranges seem so close that we feel that we can almost touch them. We continue trekking in the Helambu region. Mountain Layers Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. is proud to organize this 15 Days Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.
Langtang & Gosainkunda Trek Difficulty
Langtang & Gosainkunda Trek is a moderate difficulty trek that is an excellent option as base camp trekking for beginners. Prior trekking experience is always helpful but it is not an absolute necessity as most physically fit and healthy people can perform this trek without any issues. The highest point of the trek is reached at the Tserko Ri (5,000m). The trekking hours average at around 5-6 hours trekking per day. Altitude sickness is a possibility on this trek as we have to trek at fairly high altitudes. As such, proper acclimatization is always welcome as part of the trekking plan and itinerary.
Best Seasons for Langtang & Gosainkunda Trek
Langtang & Gosainkunda Trek is best performed during the Spring (March – May) and Autumn (September – November) seasons.
