Everest Three High Passes via Chhukum 21 days Trek Overview

Everest Three High Pass Trek is such a wonderful and adventure trek. Its amazing Everest Three High Pass trek presents an adventurous experience of passing three high passes of Everest region Kangma La (5500m), Cho- La(5320) and Renjo -La(5400). This high pass trek will bestow a chance to witness world’s eight highest peaks- Everest (8,848m), Makalu (8463m), Lhotse (8516) Cho Oyu (8201m), and and several other mountains. Trekkers will begin trekking from Lukla. Trekkes  will be see  walk by eye-catching pine woods and after Dudh Koshi River crossing and on the way Sherpa villages Benkar, Monjo, Chimoa, and Jorsale to reach Namche Bazaar(3440m). Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) and pick up at hotel in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our airport representative will meet you outside the terminal hall and transfer you to the hotel. Check-in to the hotel, freshen up and take a rest. In the evening, join a welcome dinner organized by Mountain Layers Treks in typical Nepali Restaurant.

Day 2 : Fly to Kathmandu – Lukla ( 2840m) 45 minutes and then trek to Phakding (2610m) 4hr over night at lodge.

Waking up early and enjoying the breakfast you will drive to Domestic airport, Kathmandu and from there you will catch the flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest Region. Capturing high mountain peaks, dramatic scenes you will land on the airport. From here you will transfer to the lodge where you will meet your camp staffs and other porters along with crew members. From Lukla you will start to trek Phakding, starting the first trek. Stay overnight in Phakding.

Day 3 : Trek to Phakding- Namache Bazar (3440m) 5hr over night at lodge .

Today the trail goes through the pine forest and continues on the trail that moves north up the Benkar valley. We walk along the Dudh Koshi River and walk through Chumoa and Monjo village to the reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. Next crossing the suspension bridge several time and walking along the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers, we reach on a steep section that leads us to Namche Bazaar. Namche is the most prosperous town of entire Khumbu region.

Day 4 : Rest day for acclimatisation Namche Bazar

Today we explore Namche Bazaar which is the major town of Khumbu region. It houses government offices, Internet Cafes, Shops, restaurants, bakeries and embellished with colorful market. We can make a short hike to Sagarmatha National Park and explore the sunrise over the Himalayas – Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and more. If you wish, we can join a hike to Khumjung village. Here we will visit Hillary School and monastery which houses a scalp of yeti.

Day 5 : Trek to Namche – Tyangboche (3860m) 6hrs.and visit Monasteries over night at lodge.

Today we follow the trail that goes towards the ridge and then descend down to Dudhkoshi at 3,250m. You will get the mesmerizing view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Ama Dablam. The trail offers an opportunity to witness wildlife – musk deer, multi-colored pheasants and a herd of Himalayan Thar. The trail then reach Sansa – a juncture to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp. Few hours of steep ascent will lead you to the famous Tengboche Monastery. </p><p>Tengboche Monastery is set against the back-drop of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Everest and other peaks. At the month of October/November, the colorful Mani Rimdu festival is celebrated where masked dancing and Tibetan Opera is performed in the courtyard.

Day 6 : Trek to Tyangbuche- Dingboche (4410m.) 6hrs.over night at lodge .

With mountains at its backdrop, the monastery at Tengboche looks more magnificent in the morning. At this moment, you can take pictures of the monastery with a beautiful Himalayan range of Mt. Kwangde and the scenery around and start your journey as usual. You choose the upper trail for better views on the way to Pangboche. You pass through several Buddhist Chortens and Mani walls and small villages. The place where you stop for lunch not only serves delicious food but also allows an unbelievable close-up view of Mt Ama Dablam. In the afternoon, you walk north to Pheriche or take the Eastward trail beneath the towering North face of Mt Ama Dablam. From here onwards, the walk is fairly moderate as you enter the Imja Valley. The valley gradually unfolds as you approach the confluence of the Lobuche River. You descend into the river and begin the last and steepest climb of the day up to Dingboche Village. On arrival at Dingboche, you will see a beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. Relax your painful body inside the warm blanket with the melody of Dingboche.

Day 7 : Rest day for acclimatisze and explore hiking up to view point and back to same lodge.

Acclimatization day at Chhukum. Rest and explore the view point. Overnight at the same lodge.</p><p>Today is second scheduled acclimatization for three high pas trek. Chhukung is strongly recommended before setting off for high pass expedition. However, we suggest you stay active and go for short hike around the village. We opt to climb the Island Peak Base Camp (4,970m) along the Lhotse Glacier, Passing the bloated water of Imja Lake. Here we get to witness the magnificent Lhotse to the north, Amphu Lapcha (5,845m) and the gigantic fluted ice walk that dominates the horizon to the south. To the southwest, you will see the eastern face of Ama Dablam.

Day 8 : Trek to Dingboche – Chhukum valley (4750m.) 3hrs.over night at lodge.

Today’s walk is pleasant and we will be walking through walled fields and alpine landscape. The views becomes more dramatic as we climb above Imja Valley. On the way, we get the astonishing view of Lhotse and Ama Dablam. After completing 3km walk, we will reach Bibre (4,570m). After 30 minute walk from Bibre, we will finally reach Chhukung.

Day 9 : Early in the morning trek to Chhukum valley- Kongma La pass (5535m)6hrs

Today we will trek around 10 km, before come brightness in your window shake your blanket and take your rucksack start your trek with a headlamp, gradually hike up with your trekking team reach the highest part of the entire trip which is Kongma La pass. We can either take a trail over a hill which is to the northwest of Chhukung over the Mt. Nuptse Glacier moraines or treks on the trail above the Niyang Khola. When you get on the top of Kongmala you will see around there marked by cairns and Buddhist prayer flags. The final trek down from the pass is the hardest part of today’s trip. After hiking the moraine on the far side, Trek through Khumbu Glacier which takes us to Lobuche.

Day 10 : Trek to Laboche- Gorakshep (5140m) 4hrs

After breakfast, our trail moves along on the side moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Trek continue Ahead on the trail we see the summit of the north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse and more mountains. A small climb takes us to Thangma Riju. From here we have a high regard for panoramic views of the Himalayan view. We climb on a steep trail up to the top of Changri Glacier. Then we reach Gorakshep, After resting while and having lunch in guesthouse then we continue to Everest Base Camp. We pass through rocky hills, moraines, and streams before reaching the Everest base camp. From here we admire Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Khumbuste and Mt. Pumori mountains. We trek back to Gorak shep and spend the night.

Day 11 : Early in the morning climb up to Kalapatther (5550m) 4hrs

Today we start a pre-dawn hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to witness the first day sunlight above the top of the world (Mt. Everest). It is the vantage point to witness Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren. Khumbutse, Changtse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam and more. After some moments, we retrace our step back to Lobuche. After lunch, we walk for a while and choose a path that connects us to Dzonglha. We then cross a stream and then walk on a wide gravelly river bed and ascend the ridge ahead. As the reach the top, we choose the southeast route with the great view of Ama Dablam and Kangtega-Thameserku while Tawache looms ahead. Pherichi village is visible down in the valley floor. Later the trail ascends up a spur and descends down steeply to another broad basin. After an hour of walk from the basin and crossing a wobbly bridge, we reach Dzonglha.

Day 12 : Early in the morning Trek toDzongla - Cho - La pass(5360m).4hrs

Early morning, you will get the magnificent view of Cholatse looming over. Today will be one of the toughest day of the trip. We walk through a spur extending westward from Dzongla. The trail climb downs to a basin across which flows a stream melted from ice and snows. After an hour, we reach the trip of the basin readying for the triumph on Cho La. As we rise, the view gets more astonishing: the Cho La Lake appears and the Ama Dablam in its pyramidal incarnation presides over a range of mountains on the south as Cholatse stands on the west. The ascent is not easy and it gets worse by boulders over which you many even have to scramble. The final climb to Cho La is quite tricky as the trail curves round the bergschrund. As we reach the top, the prayer flags and strung across cairns will astonish you. Scenery on either directing is simply mesmerizing. Next we make a descend down to Thangnak which is quite an easy task of the trip. But we must be careful of icy rocks

Day 13 : Trek toThangnag –Gokyo (4790m.) 3hrs.over night at lodge.

Further we walk across the Thangnak and climb along the Ngozumpa Glacier (the longest glacier in Nepal). After short walk, we begin to get the view of second of the Gokyo Lakes on the series of six lakes. A short distance away is the third Gokyo Lake and on the edge of this lake is Gokyo village.

Day 14 : Rest day and early in the morning Ascend Gokyo Ri (5360m) 3hrs

Today we climb Gokyo Ri and enjoy with incredible mountain vista. Today we can also tour the fourth Gokyo Lake which is only 3km north of the Gokyo Lake. Next, continue trekking to the 5th lake. The view from ‘scoundrel point of view’, located at the edge of the 5th lake, is astonishing. Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu mountains and the huge Ngozumba Glacier are ours to admire. We trek back to Gokyo and spend the night.

Day 15 : Trek to Gokyo - Renjo La Pass(5360m) 5hrs

We start your trek early in the morning to complete the long trekking 7/8 hrs (depend on your walking speed) ahead. Our trail moves alongside Dudh Pokhari (lake) for a while. We walk for around two hours 2 and half hours to get the Renjo La pass. On the way, we are pleased with extravagant views of the Himalayan and Rolwaling ranges and more. Views from the Renjo La pass are much like that from Gokyo Ri with the third Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Village beneath the gray smear of the Ngozumpa Glacier. We also get wonderful views of Mt. Everest from the top of the Renjo La Pass. Our trail winds down a stone staircase and then moves over a loose screed to reach the south bank of Angladumba Tsho Lake. The prescience of ice on the trail while down can make our descent a bit hazardous. Along the way, we see Relama Tsho and Renjo Lake. We walk down a narrow valley clogged with giant boulders to Lumde where there is a support lodge, but it is often closed. We walk almost for an hour from Lumde to get to Marlung on the east bank of the Bhote Koshi River. Overnight at Marlung.

Day 16 : Trek to Marlung - Namche Bazaar (3440m.)

The descent trails with beautiful sunshine from Marulung to Thame follows a fixed route used for centuries by the Tibetan traders. We cross the Bhote Koshi River and descend to Taranga. The trail continues to descend and we cross two bridges before reaching Thame. Overlooking Thame is its famous Gompa situated on a hill to the west. From here, we descend gradually on a trail that passes through a few small villages before reaching Namche Bazaar which is probably the biggest town in the Everest region. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 17 : Trek to Namche Bazaar-Phakding (2650 m).5hrs over night at lodge.

Early in the morning will slowly pinch your ears and knock your head to wake up for the trip. Though it will be not easy to wrap up the warm blanket, we must say goodbye to Namche today. Extend your body for a moment and fill your stomach with warm and mouth-watering breakfast to petrol down the trail descends gently downward. You need to walk slowly and under control as your shaky legs constantly battle the rocky terrain. Journey to the suspension bridges over the fast flowing "Dudh Koshi River" and its tributaries, the trail becomes more leveled and natural. By today you will start to get warm up by the light wind. Any outstanding sore throats and colds will slowly vanish from today as you pass through this delightful mountain air.

Day 18 : Trek to Phakding- Lukla (2840 m).4hrs

While you are traveling the same route downhill, you feel finally different. You just snap a mixture of open plains, rhododendron and pine forests and in the space snow covered peaks. You will be exposed through the Sherpa villages noticing inspiring faith in Buddhism and culture of prayer stones and prayer flags while you walk through the Sherpa villages. Upon arrival at Lukla village, stretch those sore legs and recall the experience of the last couple of weeks. Your familiarity the conclusion of a fantastic trek on a happy note with everyone back safe and sound with a smile on their faces! Lots of memories wriggle around your mind and heart. You will feel that you have touched the feet of the Highest Mountain Peak of the world, Mount Everest and it is leaning down to grace you for your happy and prosperous life. Slowly your eyebrows get heavy due to tiredness and you will be lost in the lap of Lukla village waiting the day to say goodbye Lukla village.

Day 19 : In the morning fly to Lukla –Kathmandu 45 minutes over night at hotel in Kathmandu

The bright morning slowly moved your blanket to wake you up. Your both eyes will be open but you don't desire to leave the bed because the memory of your journey still pulls you towards Kalapatthar. So you have to pack your baggage and rush towards the airport to catch the engine sky bird for flying back to Kathmandu from where you start your journey of Everest Base Camp Trek. The Dornier drops you following the morning clouds in Trivubhan International Airport of Kathmandu. Our representative from Nepal Unique Treks will be waiting for you to welcome you with your smiling and cheerful faces. They will pick up you and drop to your hotel. After that, you can rest and relax throughout the day at the hotel.

Day 20 : Kathmandu valley sightseeing, farewell and shoping over night at hotel

After breakfast, we proceed for a half-day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. We will visit UNESCO protected sites – Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu Temple), Boudhanath (largest Tibetan Buddhist Stupa) and Swayambhunath (2,000 year old monkey temple). We also visit Durbar Square – an ancient palace with repository of ancient relics and sculpture.

Day 21 : Departure your own destination

After beautiful sunshine morning will sadly wake up you, your trip in Nepal comes to an end today; our spokesperson will escort you to the airport approx 3 hours before your flight scheduled. On your way to home, you have plenty of time to plan for your next adventure tour in the amazing Himalayan country. There will be a heart touching relationship between you and our company during this trip.
